Therapy Specialties

Therapy Modalities

  • Ego State Modalities

    • These are therapeutic approaches that focus on understanding and interacting with various parts or ego states within a person. Ego states represent different aspects of one's personality, emotions, behaviors, and experiences. By recognizing and exploring these ego states, individuals can develop a deeper understanding of themselves and heal from trauma.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

    • IFS is a helpful ego state modality for clients with trauma. It views the key healing aspect as developing a compassionate relationship with one's inner system. Through IFS, clients can identify and communicate with their protective parts and wounded parts, allowing for healing. By promoting self-compassion and understanding, IFS supports clients in transforming their relationship with their trauma and fostering inner harmony.

  • Brainspotting

    • Helpful in treating symptoms of trauma. It helps target and process difficult emotions or memories by focusing attention on where they sit in the client’s brain and body.

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT)

    • TF-CBT is an evidence-based approach that integrates cognitive-behavioral techniques and trauma-focused interventions to help individuals with trauma recover and heal. By addressing thoughts, emotions, and behaviors related to the traumatic experience, TF-CBT aims to reduce symptoms, improve coping skills, and enhance well-being for those struggling with trauma.

Helping you discover strength in vulnerability, wisdom in challenges, and the beauty of growth.

You’re someone who’s always felt obligated to maintain an image of “having it all together”—and it feels like everything (and everyone) depends on it staying that way. But it’s becoming more apparent that this anxiety, grief, or self-doubt is impacting your day-to-day life. No one else may notice it, but you feel stuck.

I want to offer you a place where you can set down the burden of others’ expectations and find your way back to peace. In our work together, you’ll discover that things aren’t so black and white—that it’s possible to understand and move forward from the decisions, relationships, or beliefs that no longer fit into your life.

My work with clients is trauma-informed: that is, I will walk alongside you as you explore how your past experiences and hardships have shaped you and support you as you find meaning and empowerment in them. I believe that past traumas and painful experiences can serve as a catalyst for profound personal growth and transformation.

Please know this: your needs, your experiences, and your voice matters. I’d be honored to walk with you on the journey to discovering what that can mean for your relationships, your life, and your future.

The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss, and have found their way out of those depths.

- Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

How I Help, As Your Dallas, TX Therapist

My therapeutic approach is defined by the following principles:

  • A Holistic Approach: I believe in treating the whole person, not only the trauma symptoms.

  • Client-Centered Therapy: I place you at the center of the therapy process, acknowledging that you are the expert on your own experiences.

  • Strengths-Based Approach: I emphasize your strengths and resilience, fostering empowerment and growth.

I have been a counselor in several settings since 2010. I earned my Bachelor's in Family Science from Louisiana Tech University and a Master's in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. Before working at White Rock Therapy, I was in private practice within the Dallas/Fort Worth area and have also been the Counseling Director for a Dallas-based non-profit agency helping those affected by commercial sexual exploitation and sex trafficking.

When I’m not working with clients, you’ll find me…

Going on long-distance walks or runs with friends, looping the lake. I am also a self-proclaimed Survivor nerd; I follow the long-running TV show and always try to make time to catch the latest episodes. Above all, though, I take great pride in being a mom to my kids.
