You might be busy while also tackling a full load of tasks in your day-to-day responsibilities, the thought of adding another appointment to your already hectic schedule feels like it’s too much. You want to go to counseling and talk to a therapist, but seeing someone in-person during traditional office hours just won’t work
Perhaps, you’ve considered online therapy before, but you’re just not sure if it would be a good fit for you. You want to meet with a therapist who truly understands what you’re going through and can help you cope with the challenges you’re experiencing. But, you also want to see a therapist who is flexible. Someone who can accommodate the demands of your busy life.
Online therapy is a great option for people who want counseling, but desire efficiency, privacy, and convenience. At White Rock Therapy we are proud to offer high-quality mental health services online to adults and couples located in the state of Texas.
Benefits of Online Therapy:
Convenience
One of the largest benefits of online therapy is the ability to meet with a counselor from the comfort of your surroundings. Maybe, that’s your home, your office, or even your car while you are on a lunch break You don’t have to worry about driving in traffic to get to your counseling appointment or having to drive long distances just to see a therapist who specializes in the issues you’re having.
Flexibility
You’re busy, so taking time out of your day to drive to and from counseling can be stressful. Perhaps, you’ve had to take off work in the past just to see a therapist. To avoid those hassles, we offer online therapy during times that are outside of traditional business hours. So you can see a therapist at a time that works well in your schedule. Perhaps that’s during your lunch hour, or after your kids go to bed. Furthermore, our therapists can do a combination of in-person and online therapy if you wish. In addition to online video sessions, we can also provide phone, audio sessions after we have a chance to talk with you and see if that would best meet your needs. Our objective is to help you find peace in a manner that works well for you.
Privacy
Many people are concerned about others knowing that they are going to therapy. If you can relate, we understand. Because you have the ability to meet with your therapist from the comfort of your surroundings, you don’t have to worry about running into a friend, family member, or colleague when you’re at your therapist’s office. We offer online therapy through a secure video conferencing platform designed to protect your privacy. It looks a lot like FaceTime or Zoom, so no one has to know you’re working with your therapist unless you choose to tell them.
Access to Specialized Care
Sometimes, access to high-quality mental health services can be a challenge to come by. Especially if you live in rural parts of Texas or are homebound. At White Rock Therapy we specialize in providing trauma-informed care in addition to a variety of other therapy services. Our therapists are known for treating trauma and PTSD, complex trauma, dissociation, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and addictions. Our therapists have advanced training in evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Ego State Therapy, and Somatic Therapy.
We have worked hard at perfecting our approach to ensure you’re receiving the same high-quality counseling even if you’re meeting with us online. Research shows that in many cases, online therapy can be just as effective as in-person counseling.

Trauma occurs when you’re exposed to an event that is life-threatening or extremely emotionally distressing. This can include events such as rape, assault, abuse, childhood abuse, witnessing violence, bullying, death or loss of a loved one, natural disasters, and more. Please know that these are just some examples of traumas, this list is not all-inclusive. If you’ve experienced a distressing life event, please know that it matters. You matter. Online EMDR
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. EMDR is an evidence-based therapeutic treatment that helps clients move forward by helping them access their “stuck points.” Often, when people experience distress, emotionally charged memories become stuck in the brain and are unable to be fully processed. EMDR can help you access these memories and move them from the emotional side of your brain to the logical side of your brain using bi-lateral stimulation (stimulating both sides of the brain). This helps you process and re-organize the memory to lessen its emotional charge.
EMDR was originally developed as a trauma treatment. However, research shows that it is also quite effective at treating anxiety, depression, performance issues, grief and loss, relational problems, phobias, addiction, and more.
We are happy to offer a special EMDR therapy platform for clients interested in trying EMDR through a secure and private platform online.
