“Blake” Daniel Blakeman Lever, LPC-Associate
Supervised by Stephanie Clanton, LPC-S
Blake is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate (LPC-A), and an EMDR trained therapist serving clients across Texas through online therapy.
Blake earned his Bachelor’s in Psychology and Neuroscience from the University of Washington and completed his Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Amberton University. Before joining White Rock Therapy, Blake gained experience in both community mental health as a case manager and in performance coaching as a mindset coach for youth athletes at Seay Tennis Center in Highland Park.
Blake works with individuals, couples, and families who are navigating the lasting impact of trauma, anxiety, depression, family-of-origin issues, and relational disconnection. His areas of specialized focus include childhood trauma treatment and childhood adversity, generational trauma, dissociation, and navigating the emotional complexities of parenthood and personal performance. Blake is also dedicated to create safe and empowering spaces for clients through group dynamics like men’s therapy groups in Dallas.
Trauma-Informed Therapist
Blake is passionate about helping clients understand how their past experiences—often carried silently across generations—are showing up in their present-day lives. Blake helps clients learn that symptoms like anxiety, emotional shutdown, or perfectionism are not flaws, but protective responses shaped by survival and learned patterns. As a trauma-informed therapist, Blake creates a safe and supportive space for clients to explore those patterns and begin the process of healing and transformation.
As Mark Wolynn writes, “What we push away doesn’t disappear. It lives on in the silence, passed down.” Blake helps clients interrupt that silence by tuning into their own stories with curiosity, awareness, and self-compassion. Whether clients are breaking generational cycles, rebuilding a sense of self, or seeking clarity in their relationships, Blake walks alongside them with steady presence and support.
Whether through trauma-focused therapy in Dallas or personalized therapy intensives, Blake helps clients find relief, meaning, and strength by working gently yet effectively by integrating mind-body connection therapy with the nervous system and deeply held beliefs to empower healing at all levels.
Therapeutic Approach
Blake's therapeutic approach prioritizes the following themes:
Trauma-informed: an approach that honors safety, nervous system healing, and the impact of past experiences.
Mindfulness-based: Cultivating awareness, presence, and self-regulation through focused, non-judgmental attention to the present experience.
Relational: an approach that centers healing through building authentic connections, trust, and the dynamics between people.
Experiential: Utilizing embodied exercises to access insight and foster meaningful growth.
Holistic: Incorporating the mind, body, and spirit connection, while also recognizing the role of one’s environment as an integral part of the healing process.
Types of Therapy Blake Offers
Blake draws from a number of trauma-informed and experiential modalities, tailoring therapy to each client’s unique needs and story:
· Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) supports the brain in processing traumatic or distressing memories through bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping). EMDR allows individuals to make sense of painful experiences without being re-traumatized—leading to emotional relief and nervous system repair. Seeking an EMDR therapist in Dallas? Blake is EMDR-trained and incorporates this approach in both individual sessions and therapy intensives.
· Internal Family Systems (IFS) helps clients explore the “parts” of themselves that may be in conflict—such as the high achiever, the self-doubter, or the avoider. Each part has a purpose and story shaped by life experience. Blake uses IFS to help clients connect with these parts in a compassionate way, so healing can occur from within.
· Polyvagal Theory forms the foundation of Blake’s work with nervous system regulation. It helps clients understand how their body responds to stress, threat, or safety—whether through anxiety, numbness, or shutdown. By learning to tune in to these signals, clients can build emotional resilience and regain a sense of control and connection.
· Somatic Experiencing (SE) allows clients to gently work with the body’s stored trauma through increased awareness of sensation and movement. Rather than reliving the past, SE helps clients complete unresolved survival responses and feel more grounded and regulated in the present.
Whether clients are choosing online therapy or a more immersive men’s therapy group in Dallas, Blake’s blend of warmth, skill, and attunement into each session provides clients with the tools to heal childhood wounds. He is dedicated to helping clients move from survival mode to a more empowered and connected way of living.
